Bird Named Sport Excellence Recipient; Seven Ravens Earn Spots on NE-10 Academic All-Conference Teams

RINDGE, N.H. (July 11, 2016) – Senior right-hander Tanner Bird (Adams, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been named his sport’s Sport Excellence award winner by the Northeast-10 Conference, as announced earlier this month by the Conference office. In addition, Bird, teammate and senior shortstop Justin Brock (Latham, N.Y.), women’s golf sophomore Anna Haynes (Hopedale, Mass.), men’s lacrosse junior midfielder Nick Bradshaw (Westbury, N.Y.), women’s lacrosse senior midfielder Lauren Beville (Jamesville, N.Y.), men’s track & field junior Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.) and women’s track & field senior Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.) have all earned Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors. The selected Ravens were among a record 106 student-athletes across 10 sports honored by the Northeast-10.
Men’s Lacrosse’s Chapdelaine, Delea Earn NEILA All-New England Honors

RINDGE, N.H. (May 17, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse team has had two named the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division II All-New England Teams, as announced last week by the NEILA. Sophomore midfielder Brad Chapdelaine (Goffstown, N.H.) was named to the NEILA Division II All-New England First Team and sophomore midfielder Sean Delea (Hampstead, N.H.) was named to the All-New England Second Team for their standout performances this past season.

(May 4, 2016) – The Franklin Pierce University men's lacrosse team had two players honored in the Northeast-10 Conference’s end-of-the-season awards, as announced Wednesday afternoon by the Conference office. Sophomore midfielder Brad Chapdelaine (Goffstown, N.H.) was named to the All-Northeast-10 Second Team, while freshman midfielder Jake Castorf (Holbrook, N.Y.) was selected to the All-Rookie team.
Men’s Lacrosse Goes Quiet in Second Half, Falls to Pace, 17-8

RINDGE, N.H. (April 30, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse team fell behind early in the first half, and created a deficit it could not come back from. Pace was able to capitalize on its faceoff wins to take the game, 17-8, on Saturday afternoon in the Northeast-10 conference match-up on Sodexo Field.
Burnett Five-Point Outing Helps Men’s Lacrosse Win at Saint Rose, 13-10

ALBANY, N.Y. (April 23, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse had four players with hat tricks in its win against Saint Rose on Saturday. Franklin Pierce took an early lead in the first quarter and was able to hold on against the Golden Knights to take the Northeast-10 win on Sullivan Field, 13-10.

(April 12, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse team was not able to recover from an eight-goal third-quarter haul by No. 3 nationally ranked Merrimack on Tuesday afternoon. The Ravens fell on the road in a Northeast-10 Conference match-up at Martone-Mejail Field, 19-7.

(April 9, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse team fell behind as the No. 7 nationally ranked Adelphi Panthers poured in nine goals in the third quarter on Saturday afternoon. Later, the Ravens fourth-quarter comeback attempt failed, as the Ravens fell on the road, 19-11 in a Northeast-10 matchup at Motamed Field.
Men’s Lacrosse Holds on for 11-9 Win over Assumption

RINDGE, N.H. (April 6, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse team took an 8-0 first-half lead over the Assumption College Greyhounds on Wednesday afternoon. Then, over the second half, the Greyhounds were able to score nine goals, but the Ravens’ first-half advantage was enough to lead them to a Northeast-10 Conference win at Sodexo Field, 11-9.

RINDGE, N.H (April 2, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse team held the No. 2 nationally ranked Le Moyne Dolphins to a close game for the first three quarters, but went blank in the fourth, as the Dolphins took over for the win, 10-5, in Saturday afternoon’s Northeast-10 Conference contest at Sodexo Field.

(March 29, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse team put up seven unanswered goals in the second half, but the surge was not enough to come back from a first half deficit, and the Ravens fell to Saint Anselm, 11-9, on Tuesday afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference contest at Grappone Stadium.

(March 23, 2016) – Junior third baseman Jay Jabs (Schwenksville, Pa.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, as announced on Monday by the Conference office. He led four Ravens who earned weekly honors from their conference, as sophomore Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) of the women’s golf team was named Northeast-10 Women’s Golfer of the Week, freshman Andrew Schadt (Tolland, Conn.) of the men’s tennis team was named Northeast-10 Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week and sophomore Colleen Kelly (Quincy, Mass.) of the bowling team was named East Coast Conference Bowler of the Week. In addition, four other Ravens landed on their sport’s respective Weekly Honor Roll.

WALTHAM, Mass. (March 19, 2016) -- Freshman midfielder Jake Castorf (Holbrook, N.Y.) had a hat trick on Saturday afternoon, but it was not enough for the Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse team to catch Bentley, which poured in four goals in the third quarter. The Ravens ultimately fell in the Northeast-10 Conference match-up, 11-8.

(March 16, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse team nearly tripled the Georgian Court Lions’ score on Tuesday afternoon, with senior attack Casey Burnett (Windham, N.H.) and freshman midfielder Jake Castorf (Holbrook, N.Y.) each recording hat tricks in the Ravens win in a non-conference match-up at the GCU Track and Field Complex, 16-5.
Men’s Lacrosse Uses Last-Minute Goal to Take Down Saint Michael’s, 10-9

COLCHESTER, Vt. (March 12, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University Men’s lacrosse team traveled to Saint Michael’s on Saturday, and neither team led by more than one goal all game, until Saint Michael’s took a two-goal lead early in the fourth quarter. The Ravens then came back to tie, and it was freshman attack Luke Tracy (Pelham, N.H.) who put home the game-winning goal with 1:09 to play, as Franklin Pierce took the Northeast-10 Conference match-up at Duffy Field, 10-9.
