Bird Named Sport Excellence Recipient; Seven Ravens Earn Spots on NE-10 Academic All-Conference Teams

RINDGE, N.H. (July 11, 2016) – Senior right-hander Tanner Bird (Adams, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been named his sport’s Sport Excellence award winner by the Northeast-10 Conference, as announced earlier this month by the Conference office. In addition, Bird, teammate and senior shortstop Justin Brock (Latham, N.Y.), women’s golf sophomore Anna Haynes (Hopedale, Mass.), men’s lacrosse junior midfielder Nick Bradshaw (Westbury, N.Y.), women’s lacrosse senior midfielder Lauren Beville (Jamesville, N.Y.), men’s track & field junior Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.) and women’s track & field senior Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.) have all earned Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors. The selected Ravens were among a record 106 student-athletes across 10 sports honored by the Northeast-10.

RINDGE, N.H. (June 3, 2016) – Junior Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.) and senior Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.) of the Franklin Pierce University track & field team have been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I First Team, as announced last week by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). As a result of the selection, both Holmes and Hyde will advance to the Academic All-America ballot.

(June 3, 2016) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team has earned an All-America Second Team selection from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the outdoor season, as announced on Tuesday by the USTFCCCA.

BRADENTON, Fla. (May 28, 2016) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team capped her decorated collegiate career on Saturday, at the third day of the NCAA Championships, hosted by University of Tampa and IMG Academy at IMG Academy. The senior picked up one final accolade in her final meet, as she collected All-America honors with a 12th-place finish in the 1500 meters.

BRADENTON, Fla. (May 26, 2016) – In a year in which she has produced so many program firsts already, senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team added another benchmark on Thursday evening, on the first day of the NCAA Championships, hosted by University of Tampa and IMG Academy at IMG Academy. In preliminary heats of the 1500 meters, Lambert posted a time which qualified for Saturday’s final, meaning she will become the first woman in program history to earn All-America honors.

NEW LONDON, Conn. (April 16, 2016) – Senior Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.), senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) and junior Samantha Toscano (Northwood, N.H.) all posted top-10s in two events each on Saturday, leading the Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team to a seventh-place finish (out of 19 teams) at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College. The Ravens collected 58 points on the day, while Tufts (143.5 points) took home the team title.
