NEW LONDON, Conn. (April 16, 2016) – Senior Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.), senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) and junior Samantha Toscano (Northwood, N.H.) all posted top-10s in two events each on Saturday, leading the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team to a seventh-place finish (out of 19 teams) at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College. The Ravens collected 58 points on the day, while Tufts (143.5 points) took home the team title.

Hyde and Toscano each did their damage in field events for the Ravens. Hyde moved to 11th in the Northeast-10 Conference in the discus, with a heave of 31.71 meters, which was good for sixth place and three points. She also tallied five points in the hammer throw by finishing fourth, with a throw of 39.85 meters. Meanwhile, Toscano now ranks 13th in the NE-10 in the triple jump, after finishing fourth and earning five points with a mark of 10.42 meters. She added a top-10 in the long jump as well, finishing 10th, with a leap of 4.99 meters, which ranks eighth in the league.

Meanwhile, Lambert did her work on the track, highlighted by a second-place finish in the 1500 meters, which was good for 10 points, with a time of 4:37.10, which ranks third in the Northeast-10. She added a seventh-place finish in the 800 meters by running a 2:20.53 to tally five points and move the fifth in the NE-10 in the event.

Lambert also ran the anchor leg for Franklin Pierce's 4x400-meter relay squad, which ran a 4:13.27 to finish fourth, earn five points and rank third in the Northeast-10. The quartet consisted of senior Monique Loney (Stamford, Conn.), sophomore Alexa Cassara (Bay Shore, N.Y.), sophomore Danielle Crawford (Lowell, Mass.) and Lambert.

Four more Ravens scored points in field events in the Nutmeg State on Saturday. Junior Miranda Gagnon (Rollinsford, N.H.) heaved the javelin 40.79 meters to finish second and pick up eight points. Sophomore Emily Quinn (West Bridgewater, Mass.) moved to sixth in the Northeast-10 by sending the hammer 43.05 meters to finish second and tally eight points as well. Junior Kendra Plant (Cumberland, R.I.) picked up four points with a fifth-place finish in the hammer (37.97m), while freshman Kendra Covington (Torrington, Conn.) collected a point with an eighth-place finish in the shot put (10.39m).

Back on the track, Crawford scored points in an individual event as well. She claimed four points with a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, by running a time of 1:11.59, which ranks 16th in the Northeast-10.

The Ravens return the track on April 20-21, when select athletes travel to the Holy Cross Heptathlon in Worcester, Mass.
