Lambert Earns Women’s Track & Field’s First All-America Honor, Finishes 12th in 1500m at NCAA Championships

BRADENTON, Fla. (May 28, 2016) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team capped her decorated collegiate career on Saturday, at the third day of the NCAA Championships, hosted by University of Tampa and IMG Academy at IMG Academy. The senior picked up one final accolade in her final meet, as she collected All-America honors with a 12th-place finish in the 1500 meters.

Lambert, who became the first woman in program history to earn All-America honors, turned in a time of 4:36.86 to finish 12th in the 12-runner final of the 1500 meters. Hillsdale senior Emily Oren took home the national title, with a time of 4:20.61. She was followed by Walsh sophomore Sarah Berger in second (4:22.09), while California Baptist sophomore Berenice Cleyet-Merle rounded out the top three (4:23.87).
