RINDGE, N.H. (March 18, 2015) – Nine members of the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team have been named to the ECAC East All-Academic Team, as announced earlier this week by the Conference office.

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (March 1, 2015) – Freshman forward Alex Brolsma (Bloomington, Minn.) struck for a first-period goal on Sunday afternoon, but four unanswered goals thereafter spelled defeat for the top seeded Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team, 4-1, at the hands of third seeded Holy Cross in the championship game of the ECAC Open Tournament, hosted by Saint Michael’s at Cairns Arena. Freshman forward Kara Violette had three points on a goal and two assists in the win for Holy Cross.

(February 28, 2015) – In the program’s first-ever postseason contest, junior defenseman Sarah Sheils (Pittsburgh, Pa.) tallied three points on two goals and an assist to lead the top seeded Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team to a 6-1 win over fifth seed and host Saint Michael’s in the second semifinal of the ECAC Open Tournament at Cairns Arena. Freshman forward Jillian Witwicki scored the lone goal in defeat for Saint Michael’s.

(February 26, 2015) – Despite finishing in a tie for third in the league -- after being picked to finish 11th in the preseason coaches’ poll -- the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team was inexplicably left without a single All-ECAC East selection on Thursday afternoon, when the league announced its All-Conference selections. Instead, the Ravens settled for All-ECAC East Honorable Mention accolades for sophomore forward Marisa Ketterman (Palmer, Alaska) and sophomore goaltender Shannon O’Neil (Tewksbury, Mass.).

Junior forward Cassandra Sherman scored the lone goal in defeat for Southern Maine.

Sophomore defenseman Kat Armstrong scored the lone goal in defeat for Massachusetts Boston.

Senior forwards Michele Meggiolaro and Alla Traun notched a goal and an assist each in defeat for Manhattanville.

Sophomore forward Lanie Matsumoto (Fort Collins, Colo.) and junior forward Bryana Harron (Woburn, Mass.) scored in the victory for the Ravens.

(February 6, 2015) – A pair of power-play goals by Norwich junior defenseman Taylor Cross provided a large part of the margin on Friday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team suffered a 4-1 loss on the road at Norwich in ECAC East play at Kreitzberg Arena. Junior forward Alysha Raimo (Fitchburg, Mass.) found the net in the second period for Franklin Pierce in defeat.

(January 30, 2015) – Saint Anselm sophomore forward Alison Butler scored twice on Friday evening, including the game’s first goal, as the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to Saint Anselm in ECAC East play at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. The defeat was the first on home ice for Franklin Pierce since Feb. 16, 2013, and snapped its home-ice unbeaten streak at 21 games (20-0-1).

(January 24, 2015) – Junior forward Karsyn Baker (Detroit, Mich.) scored twice, including the game-winning goal, and her team held a dominant, 40-17, edge in shots on Saturday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team posted a 3-0 win over Saint Michael’s in ECAC East Play at Cairns Arena. Sophomore forward Marisa Ketterman (Palmer, Alaska) had the remaining Franklin Pierce goal, as she and Baker finished the day tied for the team goal-scoring lead with 12 each.
