Alex Brolsma Named ECAC East Rookie of the Week
Freshman has three-point week
RINDGE, N.H. (February 17, 2015) – Freshman
forward Alex Brolsma (Bloomington, Minn.) of the
Franklin Pierce University women's ice hockey team has been named
ECAC East Rookie of the Week, for the week ending on Feb. 15, as
announced Monday afternoon by the Conference office.
Brolsma tallied three points in a 2-0-0 week for the Ravens and did all of her damage at home in Friday night's 5-1 win over Plymouth State. She scored early in the second period to tie the game at 1-1, scored again early in the third to push the lead to 3-1, and assisted on a power-play insurance marker by Bryana Harron midway through the third.
On the season, Brolsma is third on the team in scoring with 22 points (7-15-22). Along the way, she has tallied a pair of power-play goals.
It is the second Rookie of the Week honor for Brolsma, who was previously honored for the week ending on Nov. 16.
The Ravens (17-5-1, 11-4-0 ECAC East) return to the ice on Friday, Feb. 20, when they travel to Massachusetts Boston for an ECAC East contest. Opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m. at The Beacons Ice Arena in Boston.
