Cross Country Programs Combine to Boast Four USTFCCCA All-Academic Selections

RINDGE, N.H. (February 25, 2015) – Junior Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.), junior B.J. Smith (Concord, N.H.) and freshman Christopher Lord (North Andover, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University men’s cross country team, as well as senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) of the women’s team, have all earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors, as announced on Wednesday by the USTFCCCA. In addition, both the men’s and women’s cross country programs have been honored at the team level by the USTFCCCA All-Academic program.

HOPKINTON, N.H. (November 8, 2015) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) finished 36th on Sunday afternoon, to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University women’s cross country team at the NCAA Championship East Regional, hosted by Franklin Pierce at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds. Lambert finished well inside the top quarter of the 186 runner field to lead the Ravens to a 15th-place finish, out of 28 teams.

COLCHESTER, Vt. (October 25, 2015) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s cross country team finished ninth on Sunday, earning All-Conference Second Team honors at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, hosted by Saint Michael’s. She was the first Raven across the line for a team which finished 12th, out of 15 teams.

(October 21, 2015) – Freshman back Charlie Madden (Newton Abbot, United Kingdom) of the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced on Monday by the Conference office. In addition, sophomore Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) of the women’s golf team has been named Northeast-10 Player of the Week and three other Ravens have been named to their sport’s respective Weekly Honor Roll.

HOPKINTON, N.H. (October 16, 2015) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) finished second on Friday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University women’s cross country team to a fifth-place finish as they hosted the third annual Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds. The meet also served as a preview of the upcoming NCAA Championship East Regional.

BOSTON (October 10, 2015) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) ran a 5k time of 19:22.27 to place 128th (out of 263 runners) and lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University women’s cross country team on Saturday at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championship, held at Franklin Park. As a team, Franklin Pierce finished 39th in the 39-team field.

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (September 19, 2015) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) ran a 5k time of 18:53.27 on Saturday to place 21st at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, where she led the Franklin Pierce University women’s cross country team to a 21st-place finish, out of 42 teams. Lambert was the only Raven in the top-100 of the 315-runner field.

PHILADELPHIA (September 12, 2015) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) made history for the Franklin Pierce University women’s cross country team on Saturday, as she became the first student-athlete in program history to lay claim to an individual title. Her 5k time of 20:27.6 at the Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship -- hosted by Philadelphia Univ. at Belmont Plateau -- was the only time under 21 minutes and led the Ravens to a fourth-place finish, out of 17 teams.

(September 1, 2015) – For the first time in program history, the Franklin Pierce University women’s cross country team has cracked the top 10 of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association East Region Rankings, as announced Tuesday by the USTFCCCA. In the preseason edition of the regional rankings, the women are ranked 10th, while the men placed fourth in the East Region.

RINDGE, N.H. (July 30, 2015) – For the second year in a row, the Franklin Pierce University cross country program will play host to the NCAA Championship East Regional. After combining with fellow Northeast-10 member Merrimack to co-host in Nashua, N.H. a year ago, the Ravens will be the sole host of the 2015 event, set for Sunday, Nov. 8, at Hopkinton (N.H.) Fairgrounds.
