Ravens host Bruce Kirsh Cup on Friday

BOSTON (October 10, 2015) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) ran a 5k time of 19:22.27 to place 128th (out of 263 runners) and lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University women's cross country team on Saturday at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championship, held at Franklin Park. As a team, Franklin Pierce finished 39th in the 39-team field.

For Franklin Pierce, it was nearly 100 spots back to the team's next-best finisher on Saturday, as sophomore Natalie Davies (Ware, Mass.) placed 225th, with a time of 20:38.70. Behind Davies, sophomore Vanessa Monzon (Manchester, N.H.) in 253rd (21:49.03), freshman Sarah Hart (Glastonbury, Conn.) in 257th (22:03.25) and senior Shannon Lozier (Merrimac, Mass.) in 259th (22:22.86) rounded out Franklin Pierce's scoring five. Also competing for the Ravens at Franklin Park was freshman Caitlyn Leary (Tewksbury, Mass.) who ran a 23:25.33 to finish 262nd.

It all added up to 1109 points and a 39th-place finish for Franklin Pierce. Meanwhile, at the top of Saturday's standings, Boston College collected just 56 points to score a blowout victory over second-place Quinnipiac (144 points). Yale (162), Stonehill (253) and MIT (255) rounded out the top five, in that order.

Individually, Boston College -- which had three of the top-four finishers -- had senior Laura Hottenrott (17:39.04) and freshman Isabelle Kennedy (17:41.88) finish first and second, respectively. Northeastern junior Jordan O'Dea (17:44.23) placed third.

The Ravens return to action on Friday, Oct. 16, when they host the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup at Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H. The meet will serve as a preview meet for the NCAA Championship East Regional, which Franklin Pierce will host at the same site on Nov. 8.
