Ravens wrap up 2015 campaign

HOPKINTON, N.H. (November 8, 2015) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) finished 36th on Sunday afternoon, to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University women's cross country team at the NCAA Championship East Regional, hosted by Franklin Pierce at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds. Lambert finished well inside the top quarter of the 186 runner field to lead the Ravens to a 15th-place finish, out of 28 teams.

Lambert finished the 6k course with a time of 23:03.7, good for an average mile time of 6:11.1. It was another 52 spots back to the next Raven across the line, with sophomore Natalie Davies (Ware, Mass.) checking in at 88th place, with a time of 24:31.9. Davies was the first of four Franklin Pierce runners to finish over the next 40 seconds. Senior Doria Brown (Little Falls, N.J.) clocked a 24:46.9 to place 95th, while fellow senior Shannon Lozier (Merrimac, Mass.) was right behind her, taking 97th with a time of 24:49.3. Freshman Sarah Hart (Glastonbury, Conn.) rounded out Franklin Pierce's scoring five in 111th place, with a time of 25:07.9.

It all added up to 423 points for the Ravens, who narrowly missed finishing in the top half of the field. Up front, all five Stonehill runners finished in the top five, as the Skyhawks amassed just 48 points in a blowout victory at the East Regional. Stonehill finished 80 points in front of second-place Roberts Wesleyan (128 points). St. Thomas Aquinas (160), Daemen (178) and Bentley (180) rounded out the top five, in that order.

Individually, Stonehill junior Nicole Borofski (21:12.5) was first across the line, claiming the East Regional crown for herself. She was 22 seconds in front of the second-place finisher, New York Tech junior Sarah Jerotich (21:34.9). Daeman junior Mackenzie Donahue (21:42.5) in third, Bentley senior Tara Dooley (21:54.4) in fourth and Stonehill freshman Elizabeth Hannon (21:55.7) in fifth filled out the rest of the top five.
