Track & Field’s Arlabosse, Brena Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS (July 21, 2020) – Junior Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) and sophomore Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) of the Franklin Pierce University track & field program have both earned All-Academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, as announced late last week by the USTFCCCA. In addition, both the men’s and women’s squads were honored as All-Academic Teams by the USTFCCCA.

Cross Country/Track & Field Sees Three Earn Academic All-District Honors from CoSIDA

GREENWOOD, Ind. (May 29, 2020) – The Franklin Pierce University cross country and track & field program has had three student-athletes named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I First Team, as announced on Friday by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). Junior Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) and sophomore Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) were honored on the men’s side, while sophomore Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) earned the accolade on the women’s side. As a result of their selections, all three will also advance to the Academic All-America ballot.

With the COVID-19 pandemic cutting spring seasons short, the seniors on the Franklin Pierce University track & field team were deprived of their final season of running on that outdoor track. Today, as part of our ongoing Virtual Senior Day series, we give the track & field squad’s seniors their time in the spotlight.

League-High Nine Ravens Earn Spots on NE10 Academic All-Conference Teams

MANSFIELD, Mass. (April 15, 2020) – Franklin Pierce University has had nine student-athletes earn Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors for the fall season, as announced on Wednesday by the Conference office. Sophomore forward Ryan Gorbett (Cleveland Heights, Ohio) and senior forward James Morrissey (West Haven, Conn.) of the men’s ice hockey team; sophomore forward Izzy Lipinski (Farmington, Conn.) of the women’s basketball team; junior Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France), sophomore Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.), senior Tyler Hayes (Kings Park, N.Y.) and junior Antonio Rua (Burrillville, R.I.) of the men’s track & field team; and sophomore Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) and junior Marisa Carbone (Scarborough, Maine) of the women’s track & field team were all honored by the league. The selected Ravens were among 77 student-athletes across seven sports honored by the NE10. The nine selections for Franklin Pierce were the most of any NE10 institution.

EASTON, Mass. (March 11, 2020) – For the second straight indoor season, sophomore Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team has earned a major award from the Northeast-10 Conference. On Tuesday, she was selected by the league’s coaches as NE10 Field Athlete of the Year and was joined by junior Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) of the men’s team, who was named as NE10 Track Athlete of the Year.

INDIANAPOLIS (March 3, 2020) – The Franklin Pierce University track & field program will be represented by two student-athletes at the NCAA Championships, as announced Tuesday afternoon by the NCAA. For the women, sophomore Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) will travel to the national meet, while junior Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) has qualified on the men’s side.

BOSTON (February 21, 2010) -- Sophomore Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) chalked up her second Northeast-10 Conference indoor high jump title in as many years on Friday afternoon, as she led the way for the Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team on the second day of the NE10 Championships, held at Reggie Lewis Center. In the end, the Ravens finished eighth, out of 11 teams, at the meet.

BOSTON (February 20, 2020) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team is in Boston this weekend, with Thursday marking the first day of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, held at the Reggie Lewis Center. Freshman Nyjah Young-Bey (Montclair, N.J.) qualified for a pair of finals on the day, to lead the way for the Ravens.

(February 4, 2020) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team picked up a pair of weekly awards from the Northeast-10 Conference, for the week ending on Feb. 2, as announced earlier this week by the Conference office. Sophomore Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) was selected as Field Athlete of the Week, while freshman Julieth Nwosu (Brockton, Mass.) was named Field Rookie of the Week.

Arlabosse Claims 800m New England Title to Lead Track & Field at NEICAAA Championships

BOSTON (February 1, 2020) -- Members of the Franklin Pierce University track & field team competed in the NEICAAA Championships (“New England Championships”) in Boston this weekend, at the Reggie Lewis Center. Junior Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) shined the brightest for the Ravens at the meet, as he claimed his third career New England title, and his first indoor crown, in the 800 meters. Other highlights for Franklin Pierce included All-New England honors for sophomore Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) in the high jump and freshman Julieth Nwosu (Brockton, Mass.) in the shot put.

PREVIEW: Franklin Pierce Track & Field Headed for NEICAAA Championships

RINDGE, N.H. (January 31, 2020) – The Franklin Pierce University track & field program hurtles headlong into championship season this weekend, as the indoor season begins to reach its crescendo. On Friday and Saturday, the team will send select individuals to the NEICAAA Championships, to be held at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center in Boston. The 52nd annual New England Championships will feature preliminary heats on Friday, to be followed by event finals on Saturday.
