Track & Field Collects 10 All-Region Awards from USTFCCCA

USTFCCCA All-Region honorees

NEW ORLEANS (March 3, 2020) – Eight members of the Franklin Pierce University track & field program have combined to collect 10 All-East Region awards from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the indoor season, as announced on Monday by the USTFCCCA.

The USTFCCCA bestows All-Region honors to the top five individuals in each event in their respective region, as well as all members of any relay team which is ranked among the top three in the region. For the indoor season, Franklin Pierce collected seven All-Region accolades on the men’s side and three on the women’s side.

Junior Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) and senior Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.) led the way for the Ravens, as each collected a pair of All-Region honors. Arlabosse earned the accolade in the distance medley relay (10:15.66) and the 800 meters (1:49.17), the latter of which he is ranked third in the country in. Meanwhile, Guay was honored in the DMR and the 400 meters (48.99). Sophomore Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) and senior Tyler Hayes (Kings Park, N.Y.) were the other members of the DMR squad which earned All-Region status, while graduate student William Rawson (Atherton, England) was honored in the 5000 meters (14:46.08).

For the women, three individuals earned one All-Region honor apiece. Sophomore Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) picked up the accolade in the high jump (1.76m), where she is tied for second in the nation. Meanwhile, freshman Julieth Nwosu (Brockton, Mass.) was honored in the shot put (13.68m) and freshman Nyjah Young-Bey (Montclair, N.J.) in the 400 meters (57.25).

The Ravens expect to have Arlabosse and Brena selected to the NCAA Championships when the field is announced later on Tuesday.
