RINDGE, N.H. (July 21, 2016) – Franklin Pierce University Director of Athletics Bruce Kirsh has announced Hannah Griffin has been named the 11th head coach in the Division II era (since 1989) of the University’s softball program. Griffin has spent the previous three seasons as a head coach at the NAIA level with Union (Ky.) College.

(April 26, 2016) – Senior third baseman Erin Wood (Dover, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University softball team has been named to the All-Northeast-10 Conference Second Team, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the Conference office. In addition, freshman designated player Madison Ryan (Dracut, Mass.) has been selected to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team.

(April 21, 2016) – Senior third baseman Erin Wood (Dover, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University softball team has been named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s National Player of the Week, as announced on Wednesday by the NFCA. She is believed to be the first player in program history to earn such an accolade.

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (April 20, 2016) – Freshman Madison Ryan (Dracut, Mass.) and sophomore right fielder Jaclyn Cortese (Upton, Mass.) drove in runs in game one of a doubleheader showdown on the road at the University of New Haven to lead to a 2-0 win for the Franklin Pierce University softball team. Later on, in game two, the Ravens four hits were not enough to overcome the nine runs scored by the Chargers in a 9-0, five-inning defeat at UNH Softball Field.

COLCHESTER, Vt. (April 19, 2016) – Hot bats for the Franklin Pierce University softball team led the Ravens to a doubleheader victory over Saint Michael’s College on the road on Tuesday afternoon. The strong offense for the Ravens scored a total of 15 runs in the first game and 14 in the second, as they outscored the Purple Knights 29-5 over the two games. Franklin Pierce posted a 15-1, five-inning victory and a 14-9 triumph in the second game at Doc Jacobs Field.

(April 18, 2016) – With one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, sophomore first baseman Aubrey Bianco (Marlboro, Mass.) drove the ball the other way and cleared the fence in right-center field for a walk-off home run, as the Franklin Pierce University softball team completed a come-from-behind, 6-5, eight-inning victory over Southern New Hampshire at Bisaccia Softball Complex. Earlier on Monday afternoon, the Ravens trailed the Northeast-10 Conference, Northeast Division contest 3-0 in the first and 5-2 heading to the bottom of the sixth inning.

(April 17, 2016) -- Freshman designated player Madison Ryan’s (Dracut, Mass.) hot hitting helped the Franklin Pierce University softball team split at Merrimack for the second day in a row on Sunday afternoon in North Andover. The Ravens were victorious in game one with a 4-3 win, before they fell, 4-1, in game two. The first game of the doubleheader was a Northeast-10 Conference, Northeast Division contest.

(April 16, 2016) – Senior third basemen Erin Wood (Dover, N.Y.) -- who became the program’s all-time home run leader earlier in the week -- hit a solo home run to help lead the Franklin Pierce University softball team to a 3-1 victory over Merrimack College in the first game of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. Later in the afternoon, the Ravens faced the Warriors again and suffered a 7-3 defeat.

MANCHESTER, N.H (April 14, 2016) – The bats of the Franklin Pierce University softball team came alive in a big way on Thursday afternoon, led by a pair of home runs by senior third baseman Erin Wood (Dover, N.Y.), as the Ravens posted a 9-2 win over the Saint Anselm Hawks on the road on Thursday afternoon. Later in the day, Franklin Pierce completed its second straight doubleheader sweep with an 11-2 victory.

(April 13, 2016) -- Freshman pitcher Mandi Adee (Kinderhook, N.Y.) went the distance to pick up her first win of the season in game one of a doubleheader showdown between the Franklin Pierce Ravens and the Saint Michael’s Purple Knights at the Bisaccia Softball Complex. Later, the Ravens posted a 6-0 shutout in the second game to complete the doubleheader sweep on Wednesday afternoon.

(April 9, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University softball team was on the road at Bentley on Saturday afternoon and suffered a pair of six-inning defeats, with the eight-run rule invoked in each half of the Northeast-10 Conference, Northeast Division doubleheader. Bentley took an 8-0 win in the first game and followed up with an 11-3 win in the second game at Bentley Field.

WALTHAM, Mass. (April 8, 2016) – A sixth-inning home run by senior third baseman Erin Wood (Dover, N.Y.) shrunk the gap on Friday afternoon, but could not undo the damage of a pair of early unearned runs for the Franklin Pierce University softball team at Bentley Field. Bentley got a two-run single from senior first baseman Morgan Mazone in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good on the way to a 4-3 win in Northeast-10 Conference, Northeast Division play.

RINDGE, N.H. (March 31, 2016) -- A four-run third inning would be all Assumption needed on Thursday afternoon against the Franklin Pierce University softball team at the Bisaccia Softball Complex. The Greyhounds would add three more in the fifth and one in the sixth to invoke the eight-run rule and post an 8-0, shutout victory over the Ravens.
