RINDGE, N.H. (March 30, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team has had 12 student-athletes named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II National Academic Squad, as announced earlier this week by the NFHCA. Furthermore, junior forward Carly Canavan (Kingston, N.Y.) has been named a Scholar of Distinction by the NFHCA, while the team earned the NFHCA’s National Academic Team Award.

Franklin Pierce University athletes Carly Canavan (Kingston, N.Y.) of the field hockey team, Katie Leidhold (Acushnet, Mass.) of the volleyball team and Hamish Cadigan (Christchurch, New Zealand) of the men’s soccer team have all earned Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference Honors it was announced Wednesday afternoon by the league office.

(October 28, 2016) – Three second-half goals were the difference on Friday afternoon, as No. 6 nationally ranked LIU Post dealt a 3-0 defeat to the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team, in the latter’s season finale. Sophomore forward Emily Miller scored the game-winning goal in the 37th minute of the Northeast-10 Conference contest at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Field.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (October 25, 2016) – For the second time this season, the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team has been shutout in four straight games. On Tuesday night, it was No. 3 nationally ranked Saint Anselm which scored once in the first half and twice in the second half at Grappone Stadium, to post a 3-0 win over the Ravens in Northeast-10 Conference play.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 22, 2016) – For the third straight outing, the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team suffered a 1-0, overtime defeat at home on Sodexo Field. This time, Bentley was the beneficiary of an overtime marker, as freshman midfielder Sam Pavano scored 6:11 into the extra session to lift the Falcons to victory in the Northeast-10 Conference affair.

(October 19, 2016) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team was held to just one shot on goal on Wednesday afternoon at Sodexo Field, as the team’s offense continued to struggle to generate sustained pressure. Meanwhile, the team’s defense continued to look strong, holding the opposition off the board through regulation for the second straight outing. Ultimately, however, Southern New Hampshire sophomore forward Maddie Holt would come up with the game-winning goal just 1:56 into overtime to come away with a 1-0 victory in Northeast-10 Conference play.

(October 15, 2016) – A week removed from arguably its sloppiest outing of the season, the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team put a much better foot forward at Sodexo Field on Saturday afternoon, trading blows throughout the game with No. 9 nationally ranked Adelphi. Ultimately, eight penalty corners without a goal would loom large, as Adelphi freshman forward Elissa Frein banged home the game-winning goal just 2:25 into overtime to send the Panthers away with a 1-0 win in Northeast-10 Conference play.

(October 8, 2016) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team was able to ramp up the pressure in the second half on Saturday afternoon at Sodexo Field, but it was not enough to erase two goals against in a sloppy first half, as the Ravens suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Southern Connecticut State in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Owls got first-half goals from senior midfielder Vienna Pallisco and senior forward Bailey McGinnis, while junior forward Carly Canavan (Kingston, N.Y.) had the second-half tally for Franklin Pierce.

Mason Stadium, as the Ravens dropped a 2-0 decision on the road against No. 5 nationally ranked Stonehill in Northeast-10 Conference play. Sophomore forward Kacie Smith scored the game-winning goal in the first half for Stonehill.

(October 1, 2016) – Junior forward Carly Canavan (Kingston, N.Y.) scored twice on Sunday afternoon to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team, which snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 4-0, non-conference victory over Molloy at Cedar Creek Park. Along the way, sophomore midfielder Sarah Bjorn (Holden, Mass.) scored her first collegiate goal and sophomore forward Ashley Silva (Laconia, N.H.) picked up her first career point with an assist.

Her goal tied the Ravens with Pace at 1-1, but the host Setters would get a goal from sophomore forward Jenna Sanossian with just 5:15 to play to pick up the 2-1 victory in Northeast-10 Conference play at Finnerty Field.

(September 27, 2016) – In a game where the two teams had combined for seven straight hours of scoreless play coming into the contest, it would take nearly 90 minutes before either found a goal on Tuesday afternoon at Sodexo Field. Ultimately, the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team would suffer its fourth straight shutout defeat, as junior midfielder Jenna Deschaine scored the game-winning goal on a deflection in the 90th minute to give Saint Michael’s a 1-0, double-overtime victory in Northeast-10 Conference play.

(September 21, 2016) – For the second straight outing, the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team dropped a 1-0 decision on Wednesday night, this time on the road at No. 9 nationally ranked American International. The Yellow Jackets got a goal from senior forward Taylor Ruscillo in the 89th minute to defeat the Ravens in Northeast-10 Conference play at Abdow Field.

RINDGE, N.H. (September 17, 2016) – It had been a defensive struggle all afternoon on Saturday at Sodexo Field. The only offense to speak of in the Northeast-10 Conference affair had been a disallowed goal in the 68th minute. The game had progressed to its final minute, when junior forward Allison Sheahan put away a loose ball with just 47 seconds to play to break the deadlock, as Assumption posted a 1-0 win over the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team.
