RINDGE, N.H. (May 9, 2017) – Franklin Pierce University Director of Athletics Bruce Kirsh has announced Shaun Millerick has been named the sixth head coach of the University’s men’s ice hockey program. A young, up-and-coming coach, Millerick brings with him experience as an assistant coach at the Division II and Division III levels, and he is a veteran of multiple institutions’ Admissions offices.

(April 6, 2017) – Franklin Pierce University has had three student-athletes earn Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors for the winter season, as announced on Thursday by the Conference office. Junior Danielle Crawford (Lowell, Mass.) of the women’s track & field team, along with junior forward Jonathan Haun (Buffalo, N.Y.) and senior defenseman Alex Schleper (Sutton, Mass.) of the men’s ice hockey team, were all honored by the league. The selected Ravens were among 67 student-athletes across seven sports honored by the Northeast-10.

(February 17, 2017) – Junior goaltender Tom McGuckin (Clayton, N.J.) of the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team has been selected as Northeast-10 Conference Goaltender of the Year, as announced on Friday by the Conference office. McGuckin also landed on the All-Northeast-10 First Team, leading three All-Conference selections and four league honorees for the Ravens. Junior forward Jonathan Haun (Buffalo, N.Y.) and senior defenseman Alex Schleper (Sutton, Mass.) were both named to the All-Northeast-10 Second Team, while freshman forward Matthew Toombs (Pleasanton, Calif.) was selected for the All-Rookie Team.

(February 14, 2017) – A quick strike 57 seconds into the second period stood as the only goal of the game on Tuesday night, as the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team fell to Suffolk, 1-0, in its season finale at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. Freshman forward David Lappin scored the lone goal with a power move from the right circle to lift the Rams to the non-conference win.

WINCHENDON, Mass. (February 11, 2017) – Freshman forward Matthew Toombs (Pleasanton, Calif.) opened the scoring in the first period at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena on Saturday night, but it would be the only goal of the game for the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team. Assumption split four unanswered goals over the following two stanzas to defeat the Ravens, 4-1, in Northeast-10 Conference play. Freshman forward Brendan Philippon scored twice, including the game-winner, and added an assist along the way for the Greyhounds.

In addition, freshman forward Alex Lester (Methuen, Mass.) has been named the league’s Rookie of the Week.

(February 4, 2017) – Leading 2-1 after two periods, the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team put home four third-period goals on Saturday night to win going away, 6-1, on the road at Southern New Hampshire. Sophomore forward Nicholas Fotiu (Falmouth, Mass.) scored twice and junior forward Jonathan Haun (Buffalo, N.Y.) added 1-2-3 for the Ravens in the Northeast-10 Conference contest at the Ice Den.

Senior goaltender Austin Christopher (Winthrop, Maine) made 32 saves at Sports Center of Connecticut to earn his first career shutout.

(January 28, 2017) – With the season on the line, the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team put 43 shots on net on Saturday night, but was held without a goal for 58:53 at Foxboro Sports Center, as the Ravens struggled to solve Stonehill sophomore goaltender William Palmer. Meanwhile, Stonehill got first-period goals from freshman forwards Conor Cassidy and Connor Jewett and never looked back on the way to a 3-1 win in Northeast-10 Conference play.

The Hawks got a tying goal from sophomore forward Brian Cameron 8:45 into the third and the winning goal from sophomore forward Bryan Green 1:57 into overtime to pull out a 3-2 win in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sullivan Arena.

A late, 2-1 lead quickly evaporated into a 3-2, overtime defeat for the Ravens, who fell to Stonehill in Northeast-10 Conference play. Freshman forward Connor Jewett tied the game in the third for the Skyhawks, while fellow freshman forward Cameron Wright followed with the game-winner in overtime.

A pair of first-period power-play goals erased an early 1-0 lead and freshman forward Matthew Toombs (Pleasanton, Calif.) would later provide the second-period game-winner -- his second goal of the night -- as the Ravens got back in the win column with a 3-2 defeat of Daniel Webster at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena.

(January 6, 2017) – Three power-play goals against on eight chances -- including the game-winning goal -- were the difference on Friday evening, as the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team suffered a 6-3 defeat on the road at Assumption in Northeast-10 Conference play at Buffone Rink. Senior forward Stephen Picard, junior forward Cam Laughlin and senior forward Paul Amarone all scored twice each for Assumption on the night.
