SPRINGFIELD, Mass (April 20, 2010) -- In out-of-season action, the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team blew away its opposition on its way to six wins and a tournament title at the Springfield Tournament at Springfield College over the weekend. The Ravens outscored their opposition by a combined 24-4 score on the afternoon.

RINDGE, N.H. (March 2, 2010) – Freshman forward Susan Conroy (Walpole, Mass.); sophomore forwards Danielle Dolan (West Brookfield, Mass.), Tia Levins (Manchester, Maine) and Lauren L’Heureux (Sanford, Maine); freshman midfielder Alyssa Juszczyk (Warren, Mass.); senior back Samantha Newman (Belgrade, Maine); and sophomore goalkeeper Brittany Nyzio (Attleboro, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team have all been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II National Academic Squad, as announced Tuesday by the NFHCA. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have posted a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher through the fall semester.

RINDGE, N.H. (February 5, 2010) – Sophomore forward Tia Levins (Manchester, Maine) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team and junior libero Chelsie Kohout (Harrison Township, Mich.) of the volleyball team have each been named to their respective Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference Teams for the fall semester, as announced Friday by the conference office. The pair of Ravens joins four men’s and women’s soccer players honored yesterday to give Franklin Pierce four All-Academic selections in the semester.

(October 24, 2009) – Senior forward Ashley Abernethy (Bellingham, Mass.) tied the program record for career assists with 8:15 remaining in the final game of her career, as the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team squeaked out a 2-1 road victory over Saint Michael’s in the season finale for both teams at Duffy Field on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore forward Tia Levins (Manchester, Maine) was the one who benefited from Abernethy’s record-tying assist, as Levins tallied the game-winning goal.

(October 21, 2009) – Sophomore forward Danielle Dolan (West Brookfield, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Kimberly Jaksina (Townsend, Mass.) scored 3:32 apart early in the second half to lead the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team back from a 2-1 deficit to a 3-2 victory over Saint Anselm in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field. Junior midfielder Ellen O’Neil and junior back Sara Griffin each scored for Saint Anselm in defeat.

Senior forward Katie Debler (Walpole, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Kimberly Jaksina (Townsend, Mass.) scored in defeat for Franklin Pierce.

(October 15, 2009) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team dominated large stretches of play and chalked up a 20-5 advantage in shots on Thursday night, but was ultimately defeated, 1-0, by Southern Connecticut State in Northeast-10 Conference play at Jess Dow Field. Freshman midfielder Lyndel Vagnini scored the lone goal of the game with 10:12 to play in regulation.

(October 10, 2009) – Sophomore forward Julianne Gerbino scored the only goal of the game 10:30 into overtime on Saturday afternoon to give Adelphi a 1-0 victory over the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team in Northeast-10 Conference play at Competition Field. Sophomore goalkeeper Brittany Nyzio (Attleboro, Mass.) made five saves for Franklin Pierce in defeat.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 7, 2009) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team pulled off one of the biggest wins in program history Wednesday night as the Ravens downed fourth-ranked Stonehill, 3-1, at Sodexo Field in Rindge, N.H. The Ravens ran their record to 7-6 overall and 3-2 in the Northeast-10. Stonehill dipped to 10-3 and 4-1 in the league.

It is the second honor of the week for Jaksina, who was named Northeast-10 Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
