RINDGE, N.H. (November 18,
2009) – Freshman forward Alyssa Juszczyk
(Warren, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University field
hockey team has been named to the womensfieldhockey.com All-Rookie
Squad, as announced Tuesday night by the website.
Juszczyk started all 18 games for the Ravens and led the
team’s freshmen in scoring with one goal and two assists for
four points. She picked up her first collegiate point with an
assist in Franklin Pierce’s win over American International
on Sept. 19. Later, she would score the first goal of her career in
the Ravens 3-1 upset of then-No. 4 nationally ranked Stonehill on
Oct. 7.
Earlier this month, Juszczyk was named to the Northeast-10
Conference All-Rookie Team. This marks the second consecutive
season the Ravens have had a selection on the womensfieldhockey.com
All-Rookie Squad. Last season, goaltender Kristin Tormollan was
honored by the website.
This fall, the Ravens (9-9, 5-5 Northeast-10) put together the
program’s most successful season since the 2003 squad went
9-9 (8-8 Northeast-10). It marks Franklin Pierce’s most
successful campaign yet under fourth-year head coach Meighan
Guiney.
