RINDGE, N.H. (November 2, 2004) - Franklin Pierce field hockey team member April Demers (Gorham, N.H./Gorham) has earned a spot on the 2004 Northeast-10 All-Academic Team. The team is selected by the Sports Information Directors of the Northeast-10. Candidates are chosen based on their performances both on and off the field. She was one of just 11 student-athletes selected out of the 24 who were nominated. The Franklin Pierce senior has earned a 3.65 cumulative grade point average while majoring in Mass Communication.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 25, 2004) – The Franklin Pierce field hockey team defeated visiting Saint Anselm College 2-1 in overtime today. The match marked the close of the 2004 season for both Northeast-10 squads. Down 1-0 with less than 20 minutes remaining in regulation, the Ravens fought back to tie the score before eventually winning in the first overtime. Franklin Pierce finished the season with a record of 6-11 overall and 5-11 in Northeast-10 play, while Saint Anselm ended with an overall mark of 4-13 and league record of 4-12.

The Falcons closed out their regular season with an overall record of 19-1, including a 15-1 mark in Northeast-10 play. With the loss, Franklin Pierce drops to 5-11 overall and 4-11 in the league.

EASTON, Mass. (October 22, 2004) – The No. 9 ranked Stonehill College field hockey team narrowly defeated visiting Franklin Pierce today in Northeast-10 competition. Facing a three goal deficit, the Ravens fought back to within one goal of the Chieftains before their comeback bid fell short. With the win, Stonehill improves its record to 12-7 overall and 10-6 in league play, while Franklin Pierce drops to 5-10 overall and 4-10 in the conference.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 17, 2004) - The Franklin Pierce field hockey team defeated host American International College 1-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action this afternoon. The Ravens swept the season series between the two clubs, as they also upended the Yellow Jackets 3-2 in a home match earlier this season. With the win, Franklin Pierce improves its overall mark to 5-8 and their conference record to 4-8. American International falls to 2-14 overall and 2-12 in league play following their final home game of the regular season.

After a first half in which neither team scored a goal, the top-ranked River Hawks exploded for five goals in the second half en route to their 12th victory of the season. With the win, UMass Lowell remains undefeated and improves their record to 12-0 overall, 9-0 in league play. Franklin Pierce drops to 3-6 both overall and in conference competition following today’s match.

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (September 30, 2004) – The Franklin Pierce field hockey team fell 2-1 to host Merrimack College today in Northeast-10 action. Sophomore forward Kristen Belair (Methuen, Mass./Methuen) netted both goals in leading Merrimack to victory. With the win, the Warriors evened the season series at one apiece. When the two teams met earlier in the season, it was the Ravens who came out on top 2-1. Merrimack improves its overall record to 4-4 and its league record to 3-4, while Franklin Pierce drops to 3-5 both overall and in conference competition following today’s match.
