Cavers Named Akadema Small College All-American by Baseball America

RINDGE, N.H. (June 21, 2004) – Former Franklin Pierce catcher Eric Cavers (Otisfield, Maine/Oxford Hills) has added another All-America award to his list of accolades as he has earned a spot on the Akadema Small College All-America Team by Baseball America magazine. Cavers is the first player in program history to earn a spot on the magazine’s small college team, made up of players from NCAA Divisions II & III as well as the NAIA.

(June 1, 2004) – Franklin Pierce first team All-American Eric Cavers (Otisfield, Maine/Oxford Hills) was named the Louisville Slugger Most Valuable Player as he led the College Division (Divisions II & III) to a 9-6 victory over the University Division (Division I) at the 30th Annual New England College Baseball All-Star Game at Fenway Park on Sunday night.

The announcement was made today in conjunction with the NCAA Division II College World Series in Montgomery, Ala.

(May 15, 2004) – Top-seeded Franklin Pierce claimed its second ECAC Division II Baseball Championship over the last three years with a commanding 14-2 victory in game three of its championship series with third-seeded Wilmington (Del.) College at Crystal Field this afternoon. Wilmington forced the third game with a 10-7 triumph in today’s first game.

Joining the Ravens in the three-team modified double-elimination event are second-seeded New Jersey Institute of Technology and third-seeded Wilmington (Del.) College, both from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
