Men's golf Northeast-10 Championship

RINDGE, N.H. (September 28, 2018) After an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship last year, the Franklin Pierce University men's golf team began the 2018-19 season in early September preparing for the 2018 Northeast-10 Conference Championship hosted by Le Moyne College at the En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, N.Y. which takes place this coming Sunday and Monday.

Franklin Pierce is hunting for their first ever NE10 title and an automatic bid to what would be their third straight appearance in the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regionals on May 9th-11th, 2019 at the Crofton Country Club in Greensburg, Pa. Bentley University, the pre-championship favorite, is searching for back-to-back league titles and their seventh conference championship overall.

SCOUTING THE RAVENS

In the early portion of the fall slate, Franklin Pierce defeated conference rival Saint Michael's College 293 (+5) to 327 (+39) in a season-opening head-to-head stroke play competition Sunday, September 2nd at the Keene Country Club. A week later, the Crimson and Grey tied for first with Southern New Hampshire University (597, +21) at their first tournament of the year, the FPU Fall Invitational. Franklin Pierce shot a tourney-low round of 294 (+6) on Monday which vaulted them into a deadlock with the Penmen. In their final tune-up before the conference championship FPU brought home second place (579, +19) by dropping 11 strokes from their first-round showing at the Penmen Fall Invitational as Laval University, a non-NCAA program was the only squad to top the Ravens in the team standings.
