RINDGE, N.H. (July 18, 2012) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team has announced that midfielder Megan Bird (Laconia, N.H.) and back Alyssa Juszczyk (Warren, Mass.) will serve as senior co-captains for the 2012 season. Both players started every game in 2011, as the team earned a second straight postseason berth for just the second time in program history.

(May 25, 2012) – Senior forwards Danielle Dolan ’12 (West Brookfield, Mass.), Tia Levins ’12 (Manchester, Maine) and Lauren L’Heureux ’12 (Sanford, Maine); senior back Beth Haight ’12 (Hamlin, N.Y.); sophomore midfielders Julie Hemphill (Clarkston, Mich.) and Jess Rogers (Uxbridge, Mass.); and senior goalkeeper Brittany Nyzio ’12 (Attleboro, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team have all been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II National Academic Squad, as announced this spring by the NFHCA. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have posted a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher through the fall semester.

(May 18, 2012) – Senior forward Tia Levins (Manchester, Maine) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team has been named to the CoSIDA/Capital One All-District I First Team, as announced Thursday by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). As a result of the selection, Levins will advance to the Academic All-America ballot.

Men’s soccer senior forward Victor Goncalves (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), senior goalkeeper Vinny Papageorgiou (Wilmington, Mass.) and senior back Tom Reilly (Wallasey, England); field hockey senior forward Tia Levins (Manchester, Maine) and senior goalkeeper Brittany Nyzio (Attleboro, Mass.); and women’s soccer senior midfielder Aya Noguchi (Tokyo, Japan) and senior forward Amanda Panaro (Rockland, Mass.) were among 92 athletes across seven sports honored by the Northeast-10.

Sophomore midfielder Kelsey Davis tallied a goal and an assist in the win for Stonehill.

(October 22, 2011) – Senior forward Lauren L’Heureux (Sanford, Maine) scored the game-winning goal just 70 seconds into the contest on Saturday afternoon as the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team posted a 2-0 victory over Assumption in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field to wrap up the third seed in the upcoming Northeast-10 Championship. Senior goalkeeper Brittany Nyzio (Attleboro, Mass.) made five saves to post her second shutout of the season.
