Drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 14th round (420 overall) of the 2013 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft (Baseball-Reference page).

As a Redshirt Sophomore in 2013: Made eight appearances on the mound for the Ravens, including six starts...Fall Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selection...Logged 31 innings, posted a 2.90 ERA and threw one complete game...Allowed 14 runs (10 earned) on 25 hits, walked eight, hit a batter, threw three wild pitches and struck out 37...Recorded a .219 opponent batting average and one save on his way to an 0-3 record...Made his first start since going the distance in a Northeast-10 Championship game on May 14, 2011, logged five innings, allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits, walked two and struck out four without factoring in the decision against Chestnut Hill on 2/22...Fired seven innings, allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits, walked one, hit a batter and struck out nine, but was saddled with the loss in the second game of a doubleheader against Wilmington (Del.) on 3/2...Pitched a scoreless, hitless eighth inning, struck out two and worked around a one-out walk in a relief outing against Saint Anselm on 4/16...Came on to start the eighth with a two run lead, threw the final two innings, allowed one run on one hit, walked one, struck out three and stranded the tying run at second base in the eighth on the way to nailing down his first career save against Stonehill on 4/21...Threw 61 pitches over five innings, allowed two runs on six hits, did not issue a walk, struck out two and did not factor in the decision at Southern New Hampshire on 5/4...Needed 82 pitches to get through 5.2 innings, allowed three runs on three hits, walked two, struck out a season-high 11 for his third career double-digit strikeout performance, got only one run of support and took the loss in the NCAA Championship East Regional against New Haven.
