Former Raven Adam Keenan Passes Away

Franklin Pierce University is saddened to announce that Adam Keenan, a former member of the institution's baseball program, passed away on Monday night. He collapsed from cardiac arrest during a practice session with his summer league team, the Seacoast Mavericks of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 12 at McDonough Funeral Home at 14 Highland Avenue in Lowell, Mass. from 2-6 p.m. The funeral service will take place Monday, June 13 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, located at 122 Andrews Street in Lowell.

A member of the Ravens 2010 East Regional Championship team, Keenan transferred within the Northeast-10 Conference to the University of Massachusetts Lowell, located in his hometown, prior to the 2011 campaign. A link to the statement issued by the River Hawks is above.

"Adam was a great representative of our University and baseball program," said Franklin Pierce Head Coach Jayson King. "He did everything right on and off the field in his time at Franklin Pierce. We have lost a great young man in Adam and he will be sorely missed."

Keenan played in 13 games, including eight starts, for Lowell in 2011 after tossing 4.1 innings for Franklin Pierce in 2010.

He is survived by his parents, Michael and Audrey, and his older sister, Christine.
