Derek Ingui Derek Ingui has been selected to participate in the NECBL All-Star Game.

RINDGE, N.H. (July 14, 2010) – Junior third baseman Derek Ingui (Sterling, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been selected to represent the West Division in the New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game. The game is scheduled for July 18 at 6:35 p.m. at Cardines Field in Newport, R.I.

Coming off his All-East Region selection this spring at Franklin Pierce, Ingui is in the midst of a successful season for the NECBL's Danbury Westerners. Over 26 games, he has hit .320 (32-for-100) with five doubles and two home runs, driven in 18 runs and scored 15 times. Ingui has drawn 11 walks, been hit by one pitch and stolen nine bases. He is currently slugging .430 and owns a .393 on-base percentage.

An All-East Region First Team selection by Daktronics this spring in addition to a pair of Second Team nods, Ingui finished the year ninth in the Northeast-10 Conference with a .326 average (76-for-233). He hit 20 doubles and five home runs, drove in 32 runs and scored 47 times. For the Ravens, Ingui slugged .485 and posted a .391 on-base percentage to place 13th in the Northeast-10 in both categories.

The NECBL is one of the nation's premier wood-bat, collegiate summer leagues and is sanctioned by both the NCAA and Major League Baseball.

This spring, the Ravens (43-17-1) captured their fourth NCAA Championship Regional title in the last five years and the fifth in program history last month on their way to participating in the NCAA Championship National Finals. Franklin Pierce won two games at the National Finals and finished the season as a national semifinalist for the third time in team history.
