Kevin Rivers Kevin Rivers, currently playing for the Everett AquaSox, has been named Northwest League Offensive Player of the Week.

EVERETT, Wash. (June 30, 2010) – Outfielder Kevin Rivers (Bristol, Conn.), who played for the Franklin Pierce University baseball team from 2007 through 2009, has been named Northwest League Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending on June 27. Rivers is currently playing with the Everett AquaSox, the Class-A, short-season affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

In seven games last week, Rivers hit .435 (10-for-23) with one double and one home run, drove in five runs and scored seven times. He had two multiple-hit games in the week, both coming against the Yakima Bears. On Tuesday, June 22, he hit 2-for-4, drove in a run and scored twice, and followed it up two days later by going 3-for-4 and driving in a run on Thursday. Through yesterday, Rivers has hit safely in each of Everett's first 12 games of the season.

On the season, Rivers is currently hitting .381 (16-for-42) with two doubles, one triple and two home runs, has driven in 10 runs and scored 10 times. He is currently slugging .619 and has a .471 on-base percentage.

Rivers, an All-East Region selection at Franklin Pierce in 2009, is not the only former Raven seeing success in the Mariners' farm system this season. Scott Savastano, who played in Rindge from 2006 through 2008, is currently hitting .333 (33-for-99) through 29 games with the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx, Seattle's Double-A, Southern League affiliate.
