Duplissie Named Can-Am League Batter of the Week

NASHUA, N.H. (July 14, 2008) - Former Franklin Pierce University baseball standout Bryan Duplissie, the 2006 Northeast-10 Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earned Teamline Direct Batter of the Week for the independant Canadian-American League on Monday.

Duplissie hit .444 in seven games for the Nashua (N.H.) Pride, with three home runs, eight RBIs, five runs scored and four doubles. Duplissie also had 12 hits with an on-base percentage of .464 and a slugging percentage of .926. The 24-year-old is hitting .324 on the season with ten home runs, 34 RBI, 60 hits and 18 doubles. He leads the Can-Am League in home runs and extra base hits (28), tied for first in doubles, third in slugging percentage (.584) and tied for fifth in runs batted in.

A native of East Swansey, N.H., Duplissie is in his third season with Nashua. In his previous two seasons, Duplissie had a combined batting average of .254 with 21 home runs, 77 RBI and 31 doubles.
