2003 DIVISION II COLLEGE WORLD SERIES #21 Franklin Pierce to Open Play Against #6 Slippery Rock

Ravens and "The Rock" to open 36th Division II World Series on Saturday at 2 p.m.

RINDGE, N.H. (May 19, 2003) - The Franklin Pierce baseball team, ranked No. 21 in this week's Collegiate Baseball Division II poll, face No. 6 Slippery Rock University (Pa.) in day one action of the 36th NCAA Division II College World Series at Paterson Field in Montgomery, Ala.

Northeast Region champion Franklin Pierce (30-15) and Slippery Rock (48-11), the North Atlantic Region champs, will open the World Series on Saturday, May 24, at 1 p.m., (Central Time). The official World Series opening ceremonies will take place prior to game two of the series between Central Region champs Central Missouri State University (47-7) and North Central champions Grand Valley State University (40-12-1) at 7:30 p.m., CT.
