Women's Cross Country Places 41st at New England Championship
Alyssa Lambert places 213th for the Ravens
BOSTON, Mass. (October 12, 2013) – The Franklin Pierce University women's cross country team placed 41st out of 43 teams on Saturday at the 2013 NEICAAA New England Cross Country Championship at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
The Ravens recorded a team score of 1,204 points, as New Hampshire won the race with a score of 57 points. The New England field was loaded with several Division I programs throughout the region.
Sophomore Doria Brown (Little Falls, N.J.) was the highest Raven finisher, as she placed 183rd out of 283 runners in a time of 19:59. It marked the third time this fall that Brown was the top runner for the team in a meet.
Classmate Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) was the next Raven to cross the finish line, as she placed 213th with a mark of 20:27.
The other three Ravens who competed and counted towards the team score included sophomore Shannon Lozier (Merrimac, Mass.) in 265th in a time of 21:46; sophomore Lauren Clum-Russell (Saco, Maine) in 267th in a time of 21:58; and freshman Holly Lindoe (Holbrook, N.Y.) in 276th with a time of 22:36.
Saturday's race kicked off the championship season for the Ravens, who will next be in action in two weeks when they take part in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Sunday, Oct. 27 in Manchester, N.H.
