Women's Cros Country Finishes 15th at 2012 NE-10 Championship

Doria Brown finishes 81st in the conference championship

RESULTS

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (October 20, 2012) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s cross country team finished in 15th place out of 16 teams on Saturday at the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Championship, held at Jamesville Beach County Park in Syracuse, N.Y.

Freshman Shannon Lozier (Merrimac, N.H.) was the highest Ravens finisher as she placed 74th in a time of 21:19.9 in the 5k race. She was one of five Raven freshmen to finish in the top-100 of the individual standings, which counted towards the team score of 432 points.

Freshmen Doria Brown (Little Falls, N.J.) and Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) followed in 81st and 86th place, respectively. Brown produced a time of 21:44.1, while Lambert logged a mark of 22:11.1.

Rookies Sarah Barnard (Hopkinton, N.H.) and Danielle Koch (Coventry, Conn.) turned in 94th and 97th place finishes as well. Barnard finished the race with a time of 22:40.9, while Koch registered a mark of 23:11.4.

Stonehill won the conference championship with a score of 65 points, while Adelphi followed in second with 80 points.

Franklin Pierce returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 4, when the Ravens compete in the NCAA East Regional Championship in Nashua, N.H. The 6k race will start at 12 p.m.
