Melissa Dymek led Franklin Pierce with a time of 23:32 at the
Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Sunday.

COLCHESTER, Vt. (October
25, 2009) – Sophomore Melissa Dymek
(Hubbardston, Mass.) finished 136th overall in a time of
23:32 on Sunday to lead the Franklin Pierce University cross
country team to a 16th-place finish at the Northeast-10 Conference
Championship, hosted by Saint Michael’s. Southern Connecticut
State senior Laura Brustolon won the event individually with a time
of 18:03, while Stonehill took home the team title.
Behind Dymek for Franklin Pierce, senior Alexandra Edwards
(Smithfield, R.I.) finished 148th overall with a time of
24:53 and sophomore Elizabeth Iannuccillo (Amesbury,
Mass.) finished 153rd in 26:43. Further back, senior
Natasha Williams (Bronx, N.Y.), sophomore
LaPorsha Griffin (Bronx, N.Y.), sophomore
Frangelica Odell (Natick, Mass.) and sophomore
Ciara Chicas (Westerly, R.I.) finished 155th
through 158th with times of 29:00, 29:14, 29:30 and 29:50,
respectively.
Stonehill (37 points) ran away with the team title and finished 16
points ahead of Massachusetts Lowell (53), which placed second.
Those two left the rest of the field in the dust, as Southern
Connecticut State (127), Adelphi (131) and Saint Rose (165)
finished third through fifth, respectively.
Individually, Brustolon finished 20 seconds ahead of Stonehill
freshman Erin Carmone, who finished second in a time of 18:23.
Massachusetts Lowell junior Lyra Clark (18:47), Stonehill sophomore
Jill Alves (18:59) and American International sophomore Julie
Collignon (19:05) rounded out the top five individually.
The meet concluded the 2009 season for Franklin Pierce.
