Franklin Pierce Places Sixth at Rivier Invitational

Senior Courtney Garrity turned in a seventh-place finish at the Rivier Invitational this afternoon.

Garrity leads Ravens with seventh-place finish

NASHUA, N.H. (September 26, 2008) - Franklin Pierce University posted a sixth-place finish at the rain-soaked Rivier College Invitational this afternoon.

Emerson College took the women's team title with 49 points, placing two runners in the top five, to edge Lasell College (54 points). Franklin Pierce finished with 123 points. Heather Searles, from the New Hampshire Technical Institute took medalist honors as she completed the 5K event in 19:41.

Senior Courtney Garrity (Manchester, N.H./Manchester Central) led Franklin Pierce with a top-ten finish as she posted a time of 23:52 to place seventh overall in the field of 47 runners. Freshman Melissa Dymek (Hubbardston, Mass./Quabbin Regional) placed 23rd overall with a time of 25:48.

Franklin Pierce is back in action on Saturday, October 4, for the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College at 10:45 a.m.
