Franklin Pierce 21st at 13th James Early Invitational

Garrity places 119th out of 206 individuals with time of 23:43.54 over 5K
WESTFIELD, Mass. (October 11, 2008) - The Franklin Pierce University women's cross country team placed 21st at the 13th annual James Early Invitational, hosted by Westfield State College, at Stanley Park this morning.
Franklin Pierce posted a 558 team total at the event, while Carleton College took the team title with a score of 25 after placing three runners in the top five and four in the top seven. Carleton's Simone Childs-Walker won the women's event with a time of 18:18.69 over the five-kilometer course.
Senior Courtney Garrity (Manchester, N.H./Manchester Central) led Franklin Pierce with a time of 23:43.54 to place 119th out of 206 individuals at the event. Freshman Melissa Dymek (Hubbardston, Mass./Quabbin Regional) finished 145th overall in 24:41.29.
Franklin Pierce is back in action next weekend for the Western New England College Invitational at 10:30 a.m.
