RINDGE, N.H. (September 29, 2008)
– Freshman Melissa Dymek
(Hubbardston, Mass./Quabbin Regional) and senior Courtney Garrity (Manchester,
N.H./Manchester Central) of the Franklin Pierce University
cross country team have both been named to the Northeast-10
Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sept. 28, as
announced Monday by the conference office. Both runners contributed
top-25 finishes at the Rivier Invitational this past weekend.
Dymek was the second Raven to cross the line on Friday afternoon
and placed 23rd overall, with a time of 25:48. For the freshman, it
marked the first race of her collegiate career.
Garrity led Franklin Pierce at Rivier on Friday with a
seventh-place finish and a time of 23:52. The finish was the first
top-10 finish of the season for the Ravens. Garrity improved on her
time from the season-opening Shaklette Invitational two weeks ago
by just less than two minutes.
The Ravens are back in action on Saturday, October 4 when they
compete at the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College,
in Wenham, Mass. at 10:45 a.m.
