RINDGE, N.H. (November 14, 2007) - Junior Charlotte Farber (New York, N.Y./ Churchill School) of the Franklin Pierce University women's cross country team was named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic second team by the conference's Sports Information Directors, the conference announced on Wednesday. To be eligible for selection, runners must have participated in at least half of the team's competitions, achieved a 3.20 grade point average or higher (on a 4.0 scale), and completed at least one academic year at their current institution.

Farber has achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.635 as an American Studies major at Franklin Pierce, which is the second highest GPA among runners on the All-Academic second team. Farber is also a two-time honoree on the Northeast-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, having earned Silver Scholar honors in 2006 after being named a Gold Scholar in 2005.

The New York, N.Y., native participated in five of the Ravens' six meets in her junior season, and was the only Franklin Pierce runner to improve her time in every meet of the year. She finished the 2007 season with a time of 27:41.9, her best of the year, at the season-ending Northeast-10 Championship on Oct. 21 in North Easton, Mass.

The Franklin Pierce cross country team, under the direction of head coach Joy McCahon, recorded three top-10 finishes during its 2007 season despite fielding a team with six first-time cross country runners. The Ravens' season-best event came at the Franklin Pierce Invitational on Oct. 4, in which the team narrowly finished second to Rivier College.
