Franklin Pierce Captures First Place at Franklin Pierce Invitational

Frazer leads Ravens with second place finish

RINDGE, N.H. (October 5, 2006) – The Franklin Pierce cross country team hosted the 2006 Franklin Pierce Invitational on campus this afternoon. The Ravens captured the women’s cross country team title with a total of 24 points, while Daniel Webster captured the men’s title with a total of 15 points.

River College earned medalist honors in the women’s 3.1 mile race as freshman Jen Forsythe (Conway, N.H.) finished with a time of 24:44. Franklin Pierce senior Michelle Frazer (Braintree, Mass./Braintree) placed second with a time of 24:51, while classmate Krystal Berrouard (Swanzey, N.H./Monadnock Regional) followed closely in third with a time of 24:52. Sophomore Joanna Brinkerhoff (Ghent, N.Y.) led all Daniel Webster runners with a time of 25:19.

Daniel Webster sophomore Kevin Horton captured medalist honors in the men’s meet, completing the five-mile run in 31:38. Eagle junior Edward Crellin (Sanderstown, R.I.) finished second with a time of 32:49, while sophomore Josh Drazen (Hudson, N.H.) followed in third with a time of 33:10. Sophomore Josh Nicoloro (Cambridge, Mass.) was the top finisher for River College, posting a time of 37:59.

Franklin Pierce returns to action on October 21, as it participates in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships held at Bryant University.
