Franklin Pierce XC Team Participates in Rivier College Invitational
Farquhar finishes 13th in Rivier Invitational
NASHUA, N.H. (September 30, 2005)
– The Franklin Pierce University men's and women's cross
country teams participated today in the 2005 Rivier College
Invitational. Overall, the women finished in fifth place, while the
men tied for fifth place.
The top finisher for Franklin Pierce on the women’s side was
freshman Courtney Garrity
(Manchester, N.H./Manchester Central) who finished 14th with
a time of 23:38. Junior Kristen
Houseal (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) finished 28th
with a time of 25:16. Junior Krystal Bearroud (Swanzey, N.H./Monadnock
Regional) followed in 29th place with a time of 25:18.
The top performer on the men's team was junior Burket Farquhar (Marlborough,
Conn./RHAM) finishing 13th with a time of 29:41. Sophomore
Thomas Merkt (Enfield,
Conn./Cathedral) finished right behind in 15th place with a
time of 29:58.
The teams will be in action again on Friday, when they host the
Franklin Pierce Invitational. The men's race will start at 4 p.m.
and the women's race will start at 4:15 p.m.
