Franklin Pierce Cross Country Teams Run in Northeast-10 Championships
COLCHESTER, Vt. (October 24, 2004)
– The Franklin Pierce University men's and women's cross
country teams participated in the 2004 Northeast-10 Championships,
hosted by Saint Michael’s College today. Overall, the men and
women both finished in 13th place in their final meet of the fall
season. Stonehill College won the team competition on both the
men’s and women’s sides.
On the women’s side, graduate student Anumari Ylesmaki (Vantaa, Finland) was
the top finisher for Franklin Pierce. She completed the 5K race in
19:45, good enough for 29th place out of a field of 132 runners.
Sophomore Michelle Frazer
(Braintree, Mass./Weymouth) placed 84th with a time of
22:52, while junior Rachel
Mitchell (Shirley, Mass./Ayer) finished right behind Frazer
in 85th place with a time of 22:53.
Senior Adam Marsh (Rutland,
Mass./Wachusett Regional) was the top performer for the
Ravens in the men’s 10K race. He finished in 64th place out
of 128 runners with a time of 28:45. Junior Frank Blais (North Providence, R.I./LaSalle
Academy) finished in 82nd with a time of 31:08, while
sophomore Burkett Farqaher
(Marlborough, Conn./RHAM) finished in 83rd place with a time
of 31:52.
