WENHAM, Mass. (September 25, 2004) – The Franklin Pierce University men's and women's cross country teams participated in the 2004 Pop Crowell Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Gordon College, this morning. Overall, the men and women both finished in 13th place. Roger Williams University won the team competition on both the men’s and women’s sides.

The top finisher for Franklin Pierce on the women’s side was junior Rachel Mitchell (Shirley, Mass./Ayer), who placed 35th out of a field of 166 competitors with her time of 21:59.

The top performer on the men's team was senior Adam Marsh (Rutland, Mass./Wachusett Regional), who finished 43rd out of a field of 151 with a time of 30:45.

The teams next participate in the New England College Invitational on Saturday with the women's race starting at 10 a.m. and the men's race starting at 9 a.m.
