Franklin Pierce Cross Country Team Participates in Shacklette Invitational
Men and women finish in sixth
MANCHESTER, N.H. (September 19, 2004)
– The Franklin Pierce University men's and women's cross
country teams participated in the 23rd annual Shacklette
Invitational, hosted by Saint Anselm College today. Overall, the
men and women both finished in sixth place. Bentley College emerged
as the team champion on both the men’s and women’s side
of the meet.
The top finisher for Franklin Pierce on the women’s side was
junior Rachel Mitchell (Shirley,
Mass./Ayer), who placed 31st out of a field of 55
competitors with her time of 22:38.
The top performer on the men's team was senior Adam Marsh (Rutland, Mass./Wachusett
Regional), finishing 30th out of 50 with a time of
31:03.
The teams next participate in the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted
by Gordon College on Saturday, with the women's race starting at
10:30 a.m. and the men's race starting at 11:30 a.m.
