Freshman Rachel Mitchell finishes 30th to lead women, Adam Marsh finishes 73rd leading the men

WENHAM, MASS. (September 27, 2003) – The Franklin Pierce University women's cross country team finished 10th and the men’s team placed 13th at the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College, this weekend.

Sophomore Rachel Mitchell (Shirley, Mass./Ayer) was the top finisher for the women with a 30th place finish out of 105 with her time of 21:12. Freshman Lisa Zizza (Quincy, Mass./Fontbonne Academy) followed with a 58th place finish with her time of 23:18.

The men's top finisher was junior Adam Marsh (Rutland, Mass./Wachusett Regional) who recorded a time of 32:01.

Franklin Pierce next travels to the New England College Invitational on October 4th, with the men's race starting at 10 a.m. and the women's race starting at 11 a.m.
