Cross County Teams Compete at NCAA New England Regional
BRONX, N.Y. (November 11, 2002) - The
Franklin Pierce University men's and women's cross country teams
participated at the NCAA New England Regional, hosted by Mercy
College, at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. yesterday
afternoon.
Junior captain, Jeff Joslyn
(Plainfield, Conn./Plainfield), was the top finisher on the
men's side, placing 85th with his time of 39:50. Classmate David Mura (Auburn, Mass./Auburn)
followed in 98th place with his time of 42:41. Freshman Jonathan Meserve (Pembroke, Mass./Salt
Lake Regional) also participated in the race but did not
finish due to injury.
Freshman Rachel Mitchell (Shirley,
Mass./Ayer) led the women's team, finishing 87th with a time
of 28:25. Junior captain, Christine Morchauser (Utica, N.Y./Notre
Dame), trailed close behind, placing 90th with a time of
29:48. Junior Lindsey Ketchen
(Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) rounded out the group, finishing
123rd with a time of 32:24.
The cross-country team finished the 2002 season with its
third-straight first place finish at the Franklin Pierce
Invitational and the Regis College Invitational.
