Franklin Pierce Takes Part in Regis College Invitational
Freshman Jonathan Meserve finishes 11th overall to lead Ravens
WESTON, Mass. (October 19, 2002) - The
Franklin Pierce men's cross country team took part in the Regis
College Invitational this afternoon.
Although the men did not have enough runners to compete in the team
event, the men had an excellent showing in the 8,000-meter
event.
Senior William Alves led Bridgewater State to a first place finish
in the Invitational, placing first overall with his time of
29:50.7.
Freshman Jonathan Meserve
(Pembroke, Mass./Salt Lake Regional) was the top finisher
for the Ravens, placing 11th overall out of a field of 57
competitors with his time of 31:31.9. Junior Jeff Joslyn (Plainfield,
Conn./Plainfield) finished right behind Meserve, good for
12th overall with his time of 31:35.3. Rounding out the group was
junior David Mura (Auburn,
Mass./Auburn), who placed 42nd with his time of 35:56.3.
Franklin Pierce returns to action on Sunday, October 27, when it
travels to Manchester, N.H. for the Northeast-10 Conference Cross
Country Championships, hosted by Saint Anselm College. The women's
race is slated for 11 a.m., while the men follow at noon.
