Women's Cross Country Team Places 13th at Pop Crowell Invitational
Freshman Rachel Mitchell finishes 56th to lead Ravens
WENHAM, Mass. (September 30, 2002) -
The Franklin Pierce University women's cross country team finished
13th at the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College,
this weekend.
Freshman Rachel Mitchell (Shirley,
Mass./Ayer) was the top finisher for the women with a 56th
place finish with her time of 23:37. Junior captain Christine Morchauser (Utica, N.Y./Notre
Dame) followed with a 65th place finish with her time of
23:50.
The men's team was short-handed due to injuries and did not qualify
for the official race, but participated in the event. The men's top
finisher was junior captain Jeff
Joslyn (Plainfield, Conn./Plainfield) who recorded a time of
30:54, while freshman Jonathan
Meserve (Pembroke, Mass./Salt Lake Regional) posted a time
of 31:29.
Franklin Pierce next travels to North Easton, Mass. for the
Stonehill Invitational on Saturday with the women's race starting
at 11 a.m. and the men's race starting at noon.
