Cross Country Team Participates at Shacklette Invitational
The men's team finishes seventh, women finish in 12th
MANCHESTER, N.H. (September 14, 2002) -
The Franklin Pierce University men's cross country team posted a
seventh place finish, while the women finished 12th at the
Shacklette Invitational, hosted by Saint Anselm College, this
afternoon.
FPC's top finisher on the men's side was junior Mike Fortier (Barre, Vt./Spaulding),
who placed 21st out of a field of 83 competitors with his time of
30:46. Classmate Jeff Joslyn
(Sterling, Conn./Plainfield) finished in the 41st spot with
his time of 33:00.
The top performer on the women's team was newcomer, Rachel Mitchell, who finished 43rd with
her time of 24:04.
The team next travels to Gordon College to participate in the Pop
Crowell Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 28 with the women's race
starting at 10:30 a.m. and the men's race starting at 11:30 a.m.
