Gowell Named NE-10 Runner of the Week
RINDGE, N.H. (October 15, 2001) -
Senior Ken Gowell (Sabattus,
Maine/Oak Hill) was named the Northeast-10 Conference
men’s cross-country Runner of the Week this afternoon by the
Conference’s office.
Gowell was rewarded after earning medalist honors for the
second-straight week with his first-place finish at the Regis
College Invitational on Saturday. He completed the eight-kilometer
course with a time of 28:48 to help lead the Ravens to a
third-place team finish in the six-school event.
For Gowell, it was his third medalist honor of the year as he also
posted individual victories at the Rivier Classic (Sept. 14), with
a time of 26:58, and the FP
Invitational (Oct. 4), with a time of 26:54.
This season, Gowell has yet to finish outside the top ten, posting
five top-five and six top ten finishes entering this
weekend’s Northeast-10 Conference Championships to be hosted
by Bryant College on Sunday.
Gowell’s lone finish outside the top five came with his
tenth-place run at the Shacklette Invitational, hosted by Saint
Anselm College, just two days after his medalist finish at the
Rivier Invitational.
