Gowell Posts Another Top Ten Finish at Stonehill Invitational
Men take eighth; women finish ninth
EASTON, Mass. (September 30, 2001) -
FPC's men's cross country team finished in eighth place out of nine
teams and the women's team finished ninth at the Stonehill
Invitational this afternoon. Senior Ken Gowell (Sabattus, Maine/Oak Hill)
placed fourth out of 78 runners participating in the men's heat.
Gowell led the Ravens with his time of 27:27, while classmate Nate Kennedy (Fitzwilliam,
N.H./Monadnock) finished in 35th place with his time of
31:37. Jeff Joslyn (Sterling,
Conn./Plainfield) finished 48th and posted his personal best
this season, as he finished with a time of 32:48.
FPC's top women's finisher was sophomore Meredith Fontaine (West Warwick, R.I./West
Warwick) who placed 39th with her best time of the season,
22:10.
The men's and women's cross country teams next host the Franklin
Pierce University Invitational on Oct. 4 in Rindge, N.H.
