Bio

Marissa Prinzbach enters her first season as an assistant coach for the women's volleyball team here at Franklin Pierce University. Prinzbach heads to Rindge after a four year stint as a starting setter at the University of Connecticut (2012-14) and State University of New York – Buffalo (2014-16), both are Division I institutions.

At Storrs (Bio) during her freshman campaign, Marissa started 23 contests while leading the team in assists (874). She earned Big East Rookie of the Week honors and was named to the New England Challenge All-Tournament Team. She capped off her impressive first season as a Husky High Five recipient, an award that is based on character, success, integrity, effort and service. In her second season, Prinzbach started all 33 matches for the Huskies and finished her UCONN career ranking eighth in program history for assists in a season (1,221) which led the team during the 2013 schedule. She dished out a career-high 55 assists in the season opener versus SIU (8/31/13).

During her junior season at the University of Buffalo (Bio), Marissa was named to the University of Illinois at Chicago All-Tournament Team and at the end of the year was chosen to the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Academic Honor Roll. Her final season resulted with a selection to the Syracuse University Tournament All-Tournament Team, a Student-Athlete of the week honor and she was a three-time MAC Weekly Honor Roll recipient. Marissa finished her collegiate career with 3,518 total assists with 2,095 coming at UCONN and 1,423 at UB.

Off the court Marissa was involved in her school community as she was a four-year team representative and community service coordinator of each University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marissa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Buffalo in 2016 and is pursuing her Masters of Business Administration in Sports Management here at FPU.
