Rindge, N.H.- On a night where the Franklin Pierce University Ravens needed five sets to dispatch the Purple Knights of St Michael's College, the result would not be apparent early on. The Ravens hit a mere .039 in the first set which featured 11 attack errors. The second set,and every one that got them to set five featured some improvement (.222, .229, and .303 to earn a fifth set).

Raven Standouts

Annaka Lindstrom had a double-double with 45 assists and 11 digs.

Tessa Brandt hit a career 1,000 digs and had 12 kills.

Morgan Schmutzler had 25 digs

One of their young stars for the now 7-7 Ravens (2-4 NE10) did something that would be a positive harbinger for things to come.

Early in the game, sophomore setter Annaka Lindstrom shocked the boisterous Fieldhouse crowd with a sensational play. She put home a no-look kill which did not bring the Ravens a set, but set them flying ahead. The Dudley, Massachusetts native finished the game with a season high 45 assists, a double double with 11 digs, and finished one kill short of a triple double. As the Ravens attack found their wings after the first set, she was the one feeding the outside hitters all night. She was so efficient she had the double-double secured after four sets.

A.Lindstrom's work keyed the Ravens' attack personel to have strong nights. She helped Katholiki KoukiaTessa BrandtIngrid Lindstrom, and Madelyn Boop finish the night with double digit kills (16, 12, 10, 10). Koukia was the most efficient on offense among the hitters with 16 kills on 34 swings, and six attack errors, good for a .294 clip on the night. Annaka Lindstrom played the most error-free volleyball and lead all Ravens (who played all five sets) in efficiency with a .320 clip (9 kills on 25 swings with only one attack error).  This is an offense for Head Coach Eric Roderick that thrives on depth and sharing the workload. Tonight they did just that.

On defense, libero Morgan Schmutzler lead the Ravens with 25 digs. Four Ravens finished in double digits on digs. Schmutzler, Annaka Lindstrom, Boop (11), and Brandt (11). A. Lindstrom, Boop, and Brandt all finished with double-doubles on the evening and contributed to a comeback win that puts the team back firm in the middle of the NE10 race for the postseason.

The Ravens next chance to build on their rapid response in Rindge comes Saturday night on the road in New Haven against the Chargers at 7:00 PM
