Bonsaint, Men's 4x800 Relay Garner All-New England Team Recognition at NEICAAA Championships
BOSTON, Mass. (5/13/23) – Select members of the Franklin Pierce University outdoor track and field program spent the past few days at the 2023 NEICAAA Outdoor Championships, hosted by Northeastern University at the Solomon Track & Field Facility. The meet featured over 35 teams from across all three NCAA divisions.
The Raven men's squad scored as a group and finished tied for 34th with four points scored, drawing even with Middlebury College.
The highlight of the event were two Pierce All-New England recipients, which began with lone individual recipient Brogan Bonsaint (Somersworth, N.H.) following his 7th place finish in the Men's Javelin (59.13m). Joining Bonsaint was Pierce's 4x800-Meter relay team of Ryan Walker (Seabrook, N.H.), Evan McNeice (Wethersfield, Conn.), Harrison Pelosi (Gloucester, Mass.) and Ryan Outerbridge (Paget, Bermuda), who also finished 7th respectively with a time of 7:50.72.
Bonsaint was a first-time All-New England honoree from the NEICAAA.
PIERCE PLUS PERFORMERS – MEN'S
- Junior Ryan Walker placed 26th in the 800-Meter (1:58.28)
- Junior Ryan Outerbridge finished 18th in the 1500-Meter (3:59.11)
- Junior Wondu Summa (Burlington, Vt.) finished 15th in the 5000-Meter (14:57.48)
- Senior Sebastien Vicary (Ulceby, United Kingdom) captured 24th in the 5000-Meter (15:35.92)
- The Men's 4x800 Meter Relay (Ryan Walker, Evan McNeice, Harrison Pelosi, Ryan Outerbridge) took 7th-overall (7:50.72)
- Senior Connor Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.) finished 18th in the Hammer Throw (52.33m)
- Junior Brogan Bonsaint claimed 7th in the Javelin Throw (59.13m)
PIERCE PLUS PERFORMERS – WOMEN'S
- Senior Nyjah Young-Bey (Montclair, N.J.) placed 5th in the 400-Meter preliminaries (55.21)
- Sophomore Briahna Bouchard finished 28th in the 100-Meter Hurdles preliminaries (16.13)
- Junior Tyra Felton (Sterling, Mass.) claimed 20th in the Shot Put (11.31m)
Another handful of Raven athletes will compete tomorrow (5/14) afternoon at the "Last Chance" meet hosted by Yale University at the Cuyler Athletic Complex in New Haven, Connecticut.
