Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season, Corrals Eleven Top-Finishes at SNHU Twilight Invitational
HOOKSET, N.H. (3/31/23) - The Franklin Pierce University outdoor track and field program competed in the non-scoring SNHU Spring Twilight Invitational on Friday afternoon, hosted by Southern New Hampshire University to open the spring season.
PIERCE PLUS PERFORMERS – MEN
- Junior Stephen Harris (Billerica, Mass.) finished second in the Long Jump (6.32m), first in the High Jump (1.83m), first in the 100-Meter Dash (10.83)
- Junior Angel Gonzalez (North Andover, Mass.) took third in the Long Jump (5.92m)
- Junior Salvatore Lando (Sterling, Mass.) took third in the Discus (39.98m), third in the Shot Put (13.99m)
- Senior Connor Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.) claimed second in the Shot Put (14.67m)
- Junior Brogan Bonsaint (Somersworth, N.H.) seized first in the Javelin Throw (56.09m)
- Junior Connor Nordman (Bethel, Conn.) claimed top spot in the Pole Vault (3.95m)
- The Men's 1600-Meter Relay A-Team (Harris, Jones, Lopez, Rinaldi, Gonzalez) claimed first overall (3:36.01)
- Junior Tad Darrah (Thetford, Vt.) took first in the Men's 5k (15:32)
- Freshman Lalo Lopez (Naugatuck, Conn.) took first in the 200-Meter Dash (22.60), claimed third in the 100-Meter Dash (11.19)
- Junior Nathan Rinaldi (Bristol, Conn.) took second in the 200-Meter dash (23.18)
- Senior Devin Jones (Manchester, N.H.) took second in the 100-Meter Dash (11.09)
- Junior Ryan Walker (Seabrook, N.H.) snatched second in the 400-Meter Run (52.36)
- Junior Wondu Summa (Burlington, Vt.) claimed first in the 1-Mile Run (4:22)
- Junior Evan McNeice (Wethersfield, Vt.) took first in the 800 (2:00)
PIERCE PLUS PERFORMERS - WOMEN
- Junior Tyra Felton (Sterling, Mass.) took third in the Hammer Throw (36.02m), also claimed third in the Shot Put (11.10m)
- Freshman Elizabeth Jones (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) took first in the Pole Vault (2.9m)
- Sophomore Teresa Deasy (Smithtown, N.Y.) claimed second in the Pole Vault (2.6m)
- The Women's 1600-Meter Relay team (Beaudet, Bouchard, Kulick, Young-Bey) took second
- Junior Meghan Sheline (Southington, Conn.) took third in the 800-Meter (2:36)
- Senior Nyjah Young-Bey (Montclair, N.J.) claimed first in the 100-Meter Dash (12.34)
- Senior Saylee Missell (Stafford Springs, Conn.) took third in the 400-Meter Run (1:06)
- Senior Alana Thompson (Westampton, N.J.) took first in the One-Mile Rn (5:22)
- Sophomore Briahna Bouchard claimed second in the 100-Meter hurdles (15.80)
Overall, the Ravens had many solid performances in their spring opener, including eleven individual first-place finishes . The program will be back in action on Saturday, April 8th for the annual Jim Sheehan Invitational hosted by Fitchburg State University.
