Lambert Lambert ran her personal best in the mile on Friday at the Terrier Invitational.

BOSTON, Mass. (January 24, 2014) – Sophomore Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) ran a personal-best time of 5:10.83 on Friday to post the fourth-fastest time in the Northeast-10 Conference and lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University women's track and field team at the Terrier Invitational, hosted by Boston University at BU Track & Tennis Center.

Lambert was one of four Ravens with a mark which ranked in the top 15 in the Northeast-10 on Friday. Her run stopped the clock at 5:10.83 and should convert to a 5:13.91, which would be good for fourth in the Northeast-10. The NCAA applies conversion standards to times based on track size and banking, to ensure all student-athletes are on equal footing when it comes to qualifying for the NCAA Championships.

Franklin Pierce had another top-five performance in the Northeast-10 on Friday, courtesy of sophomore Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.) in the weight throw. Hyde's heave of 12.24 meters was a personal best, good for 36th at the meet and moved her into a tie for fifth in the Conference.

Two more Ravens put together solid outings over in the jumping pit. In the long jump, freshman Brooke Simmons (Dunbarton, N.H.) posted a 5.02-meter leap to finish 20th and match her season best, which already ranked eighth in the Northeast-10. In the triple jump, freshman Samantha Toscano (Northwood, N.H.) finished 25th with a hop, skip and jump totaling 10.23 meters. It was a season best for Toscano and good for 15th in the Northeast-10.

Franklin Pierce sent a 4x400-meter relay team to the track for the first time in 2013-14 on Friday, and a team of senior Jannice Sundqvist (Harnosand, Sweden), sophomore Monique Loney (Stamford, Conn.), freshman Melanie Hill (Danbury, Conn.) and freshman Breigh Souliere (Cumberland, R.I.) put together the seventh-best time in the Northeast-10. The team finished 38th in the meet with a time of 4:17.35, which should convert to 4:20.77.

The Ravens will wrap up their time at the Terrier Invitational on Saturday, when the distance medley relay squad will take to the track.
